Hullo :D

A lot's happened in the past month; moving to Burbank, CTN, new job.

To summarize:

So I just setup wi-fi at my new place, and the first thing I did was catch up on TV (mmm TV)

Now I love reality TV as much as the next person, but here are 3 shows that I'd hate to end up on...

INTERVENTION.

Sometimes I get scared that someone will stage an intervention for my chocolate addiction. I really love chocolate, like LOVE. I wouldn't even be one of those people insisting that 'I have it under control' and 'I can stop whenever I want' I'd just succumb to the addiction and sever ties with family and friends...

CASH CAB

"Unassuming people enter the Cash Cab as simple passengers taking a normal taxi ride, only to be shocked when they discover they are instant contestants" OMG. how does this not terrify everyone?! This show is enough for me to never call a cab again, I don't want people to discover how stupid I am. My advice to everyone? Before entering a cab; check the ceiling for light up panels, if seen, AVOID.

WHAT NOT TO WEAR

I love watching this show, but I never joke about nominating anyone for it, If I consider nominating someone it means someone else has probably considered nominating me. I don't want to be stalked by hidden cameras...

Other TV shows that have their scary side? HOARDERS (omg. omg. omg. why are there always dead animal bones?!) and Obesity documentaries, I remember one I watched called "I eat 33,000 calories a day" ( I know creative name, right? but seriously...that was one scary show)

Sooo - a lot of people, when they first meet me pronounce my name, 'I'm-in-deer', it always throws me off. now don't get me wrong - I don't' mind if people get my name wrong, for all I care they can forever call me ' Hey YOU' - hell i just like that they talk to me…unlike those imaginary friends who ignore me :'(

The thing about 'I'm-in-deer' is…. it…it…makes me think I luuuurve deer and wear extravagant deer coats or something. I can't help but imagine myself walking around in some taxidermic deer outfit.

hmm, I wish my name sounded like 'I'm in lion' or 'I'm in griffon' something really bad-ass.

When people say my name they usually ask if they said it right, which gives me the chance to correct them, but some people assume they're right and i never know how to tell them they're not - there's no easy segue, I love the clever way JK Rowling worked in Hermione's pronunciation into the yule ball chapter in goblet of fire, I wish i was clever like that.

The Lovely Bones

So this is from way back when in the summer, I finally got around to watching The Lovely Bones and whenever someone would call Susie, "The Salmon Girl" this^ image came to mind, if I was Susie I probably would have been more worried about people misinterpreting the headline 'Salmon murder shakes Norristown'. Hmm I wonder if my picture is of a GIANT salmon in Susie's clothes or a normal salmon wearing a tiny version of Susie's outfit - either way i think we can all agree the salmon's working it.

Also, I finally gained 3 cool points over the summer and caught up on Dexter, so here's what i decided Susie Salmon reeeeally needed...

Keep in Play

So my brother made an Iphone app and I got to do the artwork for it back in the summer between 2nd and 3rd year....which seems like a lifetime ago.

Its a cool game, the idea is to keep the fireball on screen and not let it escape from the sides for 30 seconds, you draw lines to keep it in (different coloured lines stay on screen for different times). There are also item boxes that can help or hinder you, for example a helpful item might freeze the fireball for 5 seconds.

A red box appears around the fireball when there's 3 seconds left.

To open an item box you have to whip the fireball at it, after that a little wizard appears to cast the 'item box spell'. When the wizard appears you can't let the fireball hit him or his spell won't be cast.

There are also environmental barriers like this black hole seen above

The game is available in the app store and currently there's a 5 level FREE version if you just want a taste (aka you're too scared to play the full version)

It's call Aquanaut or Astronautical - I love pun titles but I spend way too much time thinking them up, I should have just named it something in a different language - all the kool kids do that. I won't get into the story, but concept wise its a space/ocean mashup :)

Royal Winter Fair !

Went to the RWF a couple weeks back and made these drawings. Karen and I sat up and the petting zoo for a while and there was the most annoying goat strutting about. It was a tiny thing, grey, with a giant glob of snot at the end of its nose and whenever children walked by it would magically develop a cough - the zoolander cough - and all the children would 'oooh' and 'aaaw' and feed it, whilst the older, more humble goats were pushed away to the sides. Unfair. I demand equal treatment to all goats, I demand it now.

Group Film Year

This year, everyone was required to come up with a story idea. Groups then chose the best ideas for their movies.

This was my original idea, a boy who wants to save his blanket from a washing machine monster, the monster is what the boy sees, and the ordinary washing machine is what his mother sees.

My Group chose a story pitch about a man who wants to pole vault to the moon XD can't wait to get started on it, we're still in the concept stage :D :D :D

hurrah, back to blogging :D

okay, second year started and then suddenly it was like 7 weeks later. Time is slipping away way too fast.

Here's my first post of second year.
firstly my wave-boat-sack. its really stylistic - and i don't know why this took me so long to do, i guess because it was the first animation assignment of the year.

secondly my weight-lift-toss. I chose to do an egyptian slave - the day i picked my character was the same day we were studying egypt in Art history.

lastly my storyboard assignment. We had to storyboard a nursery rhyme - the one i did was about a child being washed and wishing he could shake dry like a dog - this is how it ended up...

BTW. noticed that blogger skips some of my boards - i think 2 of them are missing.

okay so we had to animate an already established charcter, first rotate him on an axis and then do a lip sync of a prerecorded voice saying 'meow'

Today i realised that Gordon Ramsey is today's superman. When i'm scared, i don't pray for jebus or batman to save me, s'always ramsey. He's efficient, effective and intense. It'd be soooo awesome if you could hire him as your own personal motivational trainer, i can only imagine how much work i'd get done if i had to answer to Gordo.

hurrah! i'm blogging :D :D :D

okies so now that first years done i finally have stuff to put up :)

first off is a piece that's near and dear to my heart.

snake in a box. (i am the queen of puns)

so me is playing brawl a few weeks back - and i like to play with snake, and i began to wonder how snake's facination with boxes started out - perhaps young snakey (as called by his recess pals) loved to hide in a box when his parents fought, one of the boxes that would be later used by his father as he packed up and abandoned youing snakey and mother. too much back story? yes.
